Spring Buds

I transplanted some wild blackberry bushes into our backyard last fall in the hopes that they would take root and start growing. Bauer loves fresh berries and I really wanted to have some that he could pick and eat for free! I had taken 5 different sized stalks thinking that only a couple would actually survive the winter. Imagine my surprise when I went back there today and saw that all five were alive and thriving!

This shoot in my hand is actually from the smallest stalk that I thought for sure would be the first to go. But, it's actually got the biggest buds on it and is doing really well!

I can't wait until everything starts blooming!
